Bella and I were sharing a drink with a couple we had just met while picking their brains about their lifestyle. I had asked them to help me make sense of why I was starting to get turned on by the seemingly outrageous idea of seeing my wife with another man.<\/p>\n

Kat and Tim looked at each other as though they both had a lot to say. \u00a0In a very submissive move, Kat sat back and rubbed Tim\u2019s shoulder lovingly as a signal for him to go ahead. I found it interesting because I thought that Kat was in charge of their duo, but now it seemed that she was yielding the responsibilities of the \u201calpha male\u201d to Tim.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s a loaded question, Jeff, but I\u2019m sure you already knew that.\u201d Tim stated the obvious, smiling at us. \u201cFirst and foremost, I would say that you should congratulate yourself because you\u2019ve probably just unlocked your true sexuality, and now you have a whole new universe to explore that you never even knew existed inside of your head.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s kind of how I feel right now,\u201d I admitted, confirming Tim\u2019s sentiment.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not saying that it is a certainty,\u201d Tim continued, \u201cBut this is probably the beginning of an amazing journey as long as you and Bella are on the same page.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve been talking about it all evening,\u201d Bella jumped in, \u201cand I think we are. Though I\u2019m not only surprised at Jeff\u2019s discovery, but I\u2019m also very surprised at how comfortable and eager I am about this as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is the key, guys.\u201d Kat jumped in, too. \u201cYou absolutely must be on the same page at all times. Things may evolve and change, and if you don\u2019t communicate, you can end up in a lot of trouble. If you are not the type of couple who is one hundred percent honest with each other on all levels, you may want to give this a second thought.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think we have to worry about that,\u201d I replied with a grin. \u201cWe share everything with one another. \u00a0Anything from what we had for lunch to who looked at whose ass and when.\u201d<\/p>\n

Both Bella and I glanced at each other with a smile, and I think that was the best confirmation for Kat and Tim to show that we had that requirement covered.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, you want to know why you are turned on by the thought of your wife having sex with another man?\u201d Tim asked, and got my full attention back.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, I have never really met anyone or have even heard of anyone who would be into this sort of thing,\u201d I replied. \u201cAnd I\u2019m almost scared that there is something wrong with me all of a sudden.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou just said that the reason you\u2019re afraid that there is something wrong with you is because you\u2019ve never heard of anyone with this type of a \u2018problem\u2019.\u201d Tim did air quotes as he said it. \u201cBut then you said that you yourself would never tell anyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOh, I see what you mean.\u201d I started to catch on. \u201cSo, you\u2019re telling me that there are plenty of guys out there who enjoy watching their wives fuck other men; it\u2019s just that everyone is keeping it a secret and thus no one knows that they all exist?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou didn\u2019t. Until today,\u201d Tim smiled. \u201cAnd you\u2019ve been gracing the face of the Earth for how many years?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you go online, you\u2019ll find tons of forums, groups, and even dating services just for couples like us,\u201d Kat continued Tim\u2019s thought.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like we\u2019re joining a secret society,\u201d Bella said with excitement in her eyes.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s a good way to put it, girl.\u201d Kat responded with a grin.<\/p>\n

\u201cOkay, okay. So I might not have known that there were so many other people into this.\u201d I was still trying to make sense of everything. \u201cBut how in the world did I not know that I was?\u201d<\/p>\n

Tim seemed to have the answer right away. \u201cThat one is easy. Think of it as your favorite wine, whatever that may be.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWine?\u201d I wasn\u2019t sure if comparing my sexual epiphany to a Napa Valley trip was going to give me a new outlook on life, but I was willing to listen.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes,\u201d Tim replied. \u201cI\u2019m sure you didn\u2019t ask for it when you were born, or even when you were five. You were into breast milk and orange juice. As a matter of fact, if someone would have let you try that wine, you would have spit it right out again in disgust. It would taste bitter and burn your insides.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat actually happened when I was like, ten, and my mom let me taste a sip out of her glass once. I thought it was poison,\u201d I answered, chuckling.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere you go!\u201d Tim continued. \u201cYou thought it was disgusting. More disgusting or less disgusting than someday letting your wife sleep with another guy?\u201d<\/p>\n

I started to grasp what he was getting at, for the man made sense. \u201cI see where you\u2019re going with this. You\u2019re saying that I had to drink lots of orange juice and milk before the age, time, situation, and dinner pairing was right for me to fall in love with my wine?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cCongratulations on getting weaned off of milk,\u201d Tim put his hand on my shoulder in almost comforting manner and smiled.<\/p>\n

Things suddenly started to make more sense. All jokes aside, I guess maybe I wasn\u2019t ready simply because I hadn\u2019t previously known that this was a \u201cthing\u201d; I hadn\u2019t presented my brain with this option. Most importantly, I hadn\u2019t been in a position to have an opportunity to explore a lifestyle like this. Only now that I was married, and both of us were looking to spice things up, was I even open to new ideas and concepts as far as my sex life was concerned.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat about me?\u201d Bella jumped in as I was still processing all of the information. \u201cI was always a pretty straightforward girl, wanting to be in a monogamous marriage and never having any kind of wild orgies or threesome experiences even in my college years.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAre you asking why all of a sudden you want to be a dirty little slut?\u201d Kat followed up on Bella\u2019s statement with a question that Bella was probably afraid to ask herself.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s easy, too,\u201d Kat followed Tim\u2019s footsteps in her approach to our \u201csilly\u201d questions, her words quick and to the point. \u201cFor starters, most women reach a new level of horny as they move into their 30s and 40s. That\u2019s just nature.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI have noticed that my sex drive is much higher now than it was when I was in my 20s,\u201d Bella confessed, something I didn\u2019t even know.<\/p>\n

\u201cSee! And you\u2019re not alone,\u201d Kat replied. \u201cSo pair that up with the fact that you are now more comfortable and secure in who you are and what you want. \u201cAnd now?\u201d Kat giggled a little in anticipation of Bella\u2019s answer, as we all had noticed Bella opening up a bit more.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow,\u201d Bella paused. \u201cNow\u2026 apparently I want to get nailed by a stranger in a dark room while my husband watches.\u201d<\/p>\n

We all laughed, though all of us knew that it wasn\u2019t so much funny as it was real and incredibly sexy. I know I got aroused yet again, this time by how refreshingly genuine Bella was in talking about the topic. It felt like she was coming into her own and in a way taking charge of our mini sex revolution. That was incredibly hot.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo\u2026\u201d The practical side of me took over again. \u201cWhat do we do now?\u201d<\/p>\n

We know that some things we try we won\u2019t like and we won\u2019t do again. Much like with anything else, we know that if we don\u2019t try different things, we will never find things that we do like. \u00a0With that said, we never punish each other for doing it or bring it up if we ever argue.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s funny how you mention all of this,\u201d I replied. \u201cBella and I just kind of made up the very same rule for the rest of the night. I think you just phrased it better.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOh?\u201d Kat jumped in. \u201cSo you guys are thinking about doing something tonight?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t really know,\u201d Bella answered. \u201cEverything is moving so fast, but we also don\u2019t want to miss out on something that may present itself tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI have to say that some of our greatest experiences have been spontaneous,\u201d Tim admitted. \u201cBecause part of the excitement is living in the moment and just going for it. As long as you have the ground rules in place and the agreement that no action gets punished, there shouldn\u2019t be anything holding you back.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThough don\u2019t think that what worked for us or anybody else will work for you in the same way.\u201d Kat had a point.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe do understand that,\u201d I replied. \u201cWhat are the ground rules that you and maybe other couples you know have for this?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think most couples have similar rules,\u201d Kat replied. \u201cMost of them are just common sense.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe most important one is to be hundred percent honest with each other and communicate everything that\u2019s on your mind,\u201d Tim jumped back in. \u201cAsk questions if you want to know, share your thoughts if you have any, and never blame each other for doing so no matter how much you may have disliked what you heard. If you don\u2019t follow this\u2014nothing else will really matter. You will most likely end up hating the lifestyle and putting your relationship in jeopardy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we can commit to that for sure,\u201d Bella responded before I had a chance. \u201cWhat are the other rules?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cStop if you don\u2019t like what is happening, even if it\u2019s smack dab in the middle of the action,\u201d Kat answered right away. \u201cDon\u2019t be afraid to ruin everyone\u2019s fun. It is only fun if everyone is into it. If you don\u2019t stop what\u2019s happening when you don\u2019t like it, you may regret the experience and start resenting the lifestyle.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe last thing that\u2019s left is safety,\u201d Tim said. \u201cHealth-wise and security-wise. You\u2019ll be meeting strangers. Make sure you don\u2019t put yourself in an unsafe or dangerous situation. On top of that, make sure that you understand the health risks and protect yourself according to the comfort level you have set for yourselves.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHas anything like that ever happened to you guys?\u201d Bella asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve never had a situation where we felt we put ourselves in harm\u2019s way,\u201d Tim answered. \u201cHowever, we did have an experience where we had a condom break with someone whom we hadn\u2019t asked to verify his health status. That was a scare. Luckily he was cool enough to go and get tested the next day and share his results with us. We were in the clear.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s scary,\u201d Bella replied. \u201cWe haven\u2019t even thought about that. Though I think it goes without saying that we\u2019ll be using condoms with everyone we do anything with.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s always a good idea,\u201d Tim said. \u201cOnce you decide if you want to stay in this lifestyle and if so, how far you want to get into it, you\u2019ll find it easier to set your own comfort levels as far as safety and health are concerned.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think these rules are common sense and I don\u2019t see why we shouldn\u2019t adopt those as well,\u201d I replied as Bella and I looked at each other in agreement.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo you think we are ready?\u201d Bella seemed to want to get the conversation back to the practical part. \u201cI mean, where should we start?\u201d<\/p>\n
